Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
A child stays home with a fever, vomiting or diarrhea, or a contagious illness such as strep or pink eye. They come back after a full day without a fever or other symptoms, or when a doctor says it is fine. If a child becomes unwell at school we call you to come and keep them with a teacher until you arrive.
Drop-off and pickup
A teacher hands each child to an adult on your pickup list. We ask for ID from anyone we don't know, and we call you before a child leaves with someone who isn't on the list.
Late pickup
If you are running late, call the school office and a teacher keeps your child company until you arrive. A late pickup is never a reason to worry, and if it becomes a pattern we talk it through with you. Any charge is in the enrollment forms.
Meals, snacks and allergies
The school provides a morning snack. Children on the school day bring a lunch from home. We ask families not to send nuts. Tell us about allergies when you tour, and we ask for the details privately once you enroll.
Closures for weather and holidays
We follow the school calendar for holidays, breaks and teacher in-service days. For snow or ice, we announce a closure or a late start by text and on the school's phone line before the school day begins.
What to wear and bring
Send a labeled change of clothes, closed-toe shoes and a coat or rain gear for the weather, because we go outside most days. Children on the school day also bring a water bottle and a lunch.
Absences and late arrival
Call or text the school office if your child will be absent. If you will arrive late, come to the pre-K room door and a teacher will bring your child in.
Leaving the program
We ask for a month's notice in writing, so the place can go to a family on the waitlist. The enrollment forms explain what happens to a term in progress.
